About the hotel

An independently-owned country house, full of charm, warmth and generous hospitality, this Grade II listed mansion, with its beautiful gardens, is the perfect venue for every occasion.

Nestled amid 66 acres of historic gardens and parkland in the depths of Hampshire, Tylney Hall boasts superb accommodation, excellent food and comprehensive leisure facilities, including a health spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and all-weather tennis courts.

During your stay you can explore the beautiful grounds with lovely woodland walks; inhale the heady fragrance in the Rose Garden; trail your fingers in the exquisite Water Gardens; and enjoy the view of the lake from the boathouse bridge.

The current house dates from 1898 and served as a hospital during the First World War, later becoming a private school. Today, it’s one of England’s most comfortable and characteristic country house hotels.

Tylney Hall is the perfect place to get away from it all, enjoy a romantic break or hold the wedding you have always dreamed of. The extensive grounds house a Vista lined with giant redwoods which offers the longest, uninterrupted view of the Hampshire countryside; an orchard; Victorian greenhouses; croquet; and jogging trails; Mountain bike hire is available to explore the wonderful surroundings.

The health spa offers 4 treatment rooms, manicure and pedicure room, fully-equipped gymnasium, saunas and a whirlpool. Golf is available at the adjacent 18-hole golf course and we can also arrange archery, clay pigeon shooting and similar activities.

The Italian Lounge and Wedgwood-style Drawing Room provide elegant surroundings for those quiet moments of relaxation. Pre-dinner drinks are hosted in the Library Bar before tasting the gastronomic delights of the Oak Room Restaurant. Restaurants and Bars

Food is a key ingredient in the Tylney Hall experience. Whether you are sitting down to a romantic candlelit dinner for 2, a light lunch. or tea and scones by the fire, you can be sure of outstanding quality and service.

Meals are served in the wood-panelled Oak Room Restaurant with delightful views of the gardens. The hotel also serves afternoon teas and light lunches in the Italian or Grey Lounge, in front of the fire, or on the terraces in summer.

The head chef, Stephen Hine, prides himself on using the best ingredients available to create classical dishes with a modern approach. Food is bought either locally or direct from London, using mainly English ingredients, and naturally, all dishes are prepared to order.

The Oak Room Restaurant has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for the outstanding preparation of its food, the high standards of its cuisine and the good quality of the ingredients it uses.
